Originally built in the 1970s as a combination of private apartments and hotel rooms – and restructured in 1993 – the Grand Elite Hotel is a modern, 8-storey property with a somewhat nondescript brownstone façade. The medium sized lobby is appointed in a fairly busy, traditional style, with marble floors, patterned rugs, wood fittings and leather armchairs. Mirrored walls make it feel more spacious than it actually is. The 177 spacious guestrooms feature soothing cream décor, pleasantly complemented by dark wooden furnishings. Having originally been apartments, many also feature generous seating areas. The hotel’s Cordon Bleu Restaurant, situated on the ground floor, serves Italian cuisine, as well as specialities of the Emilia-Romagna region. It is popular with local residents as well as guests. Next to it, there is a cosy wood panelled American bar, where guests can enjoy drinks and cocktails while listening to live piano music.
